I am not one to edit my photos before I post them, as I am sure you can tell. And to be quite honest, I think I could master brain surgery quicker than Photoshop. My brain is just missing that section needed to get a handle on editing layers and all that blah, blah, blah. So sad, I know. I also think the best editing is when you can't really tell anything has been done. At least that was my thinking until I came across Tilt Shift Maker on the Craft magazine blog.
For those of you not familiar with tilt shift photography, it involves using a special macro lens or photo editing software and making landscapes look like artfully crafted miniature scenes. I played around with a rather generic photo I took on the boat.
This is what I ended up with after playing with it for about 10 seconds, no joke.
How cool is that! I know the picture is way to centered. Too much sea, not enough sky. Taking pictures on a boat is a skill all in itself.
This could turn into a fun project to go on the wall in the boys' rooms. It is a super fun freebie to play around with. Might even be an artistic epiphany for someone. They have a Flickr group that will just blow your mind.
On the sewing front, I am running out of distractions and should be finishing up some quilts soon. I can also feel a fabric buying binge coming on . . .
